But I WANT it. Maybe even NEED it.

Things I said I was going to do today:

1) Work.

2) Figure out what cities I’m going to see in upcoming trip to Switzerland and book hotels.

3) Find hotel options for Carnival.  If there even ARE hotel options at this point.  Gulp.

4) Take pictures for Street Style.

Things I did today:

1) Went shopping.

2) Fell in love with a feather skirt that could (should) only be worn once, but I would find a reason to wear it no less than 258 times.

3) Almost drove into parked cab because I was day dreaming of said skirt.

Behold:

(sorry…I know the picture is supes blurry.  It’s kind of giving me a headache.  But my adrenaline was pumping at the time, so you know…)

I don’t care if I’d look like a fatter version of Black Swan in it.  I would wear it with a smile on my face every day.  I all but shoved a poor innocent bystander out of the way just to get a closer look.  It was at Buffalo Exchange – Alice & Olivia and they wanted $200 for it.  (I just did some research, it was originally only $330 so it’s not like this is a huge discount. And I saw that Neimans and Shopbop both had it marked down to $115 at one point.  BUT…it is completely sold out EVERYWHERE.  So $200 seems alright considering.  And knowing it’s sold out only makes me want it more.)

I tried to justify buying it.  “It’s super practical…you can totally wear it to work.”  I quickly recognized that my co-workers would think I was bat-shit crazy if I showed up to the office in a feather skirt.  I sent the picture to some girlfriends hoping for backup.  Melissa said it looks more like something you’d dust your house with.  Me – “See?  It’s multi-functional.  More bang for my buck!”  Annie suggested bartering.  I considered offering up plasma, as I’ve already unloaded all unwanted clothes.  Ultimately, I opted to stick with the pile of clothes I had in my hands.  Needs versus wants people.  So instead of owning the most beautiful skirt on the planet (I would sleep in it), I got two jackets, a pair of suede ankle booties, two shirts, and a sweater.  All for $129!!!  I love you Buffalo Exchange.  And I love you feather skirt.  I will dream of you for days…no, MONTHS to come.  I will dream of wearing you at Tracks, with my boys fluffing your beautiful rooster feathers on the dance floor.  OH MY GAGA!  P Jon – wouldn’t this be the most perfect skirt for lifts??  I’m imaging our dance routine right now and it’s  Ah.Maz.Ing.

WAIT.  I just had an idea.  Anybody want to go in on fractional ownership?  We could time-share the feather skirt.  Anyone?  Anyone?  Beuhler?

Le siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.
